To attract higher-value hunters, the website first needed a much sharper reason to choose New Zealand Safaris. The existing homepage focused heavily on the types of hunts available and the animals hunters could pursue, but it did little to speak directly to the people most likely to make the journey. For someone in the USA or Canada considering a premium hunting trip on the other side of the world, the proposition needed to feel relevant immediately. We shifted the messaging away from a broad, generic offer and centred it on the needs, expectations and motivations of North American hunters.
That meant making it unmistakably clear who New Zealand Safaris was for, what made the experience worth travelling for, and why the business was a credible choice for a significant overseas hunting trip. By narrowing the focus to the USA and Canada, the homepage could communicate with far greater precision. Instead of trying to appeal to everyone, the site began speaking directly to affluent hunters with the means and intent to book a complete New Zealand hunting experience. The result was a stronger, more compelling proposition designed to attract better-quality enquiries from the outset.
Once the proposition was clear, the next priority was reducing friction between interest and enquiry. The site had two confusing navigation menus and no obvious journey from research to booking. We simplified the structure around the hunter’s real decision process: preparing for the hunt, arriving in New Zealand, experiencing the hunt, and understanding what happens afterwards. This gave prospective clients the practical information they needed in a logical order, making the experience easier to follow and helping genuine enquiries feel more informed before making contact.
To support that clearer journey, the website also needed to feel faster and more credible. The ageing WordPress theme carried years of unnecessary weight, creating a slow and clunky experience. We streamlined the existing build rather than replacing it, reducing heavy file loads, compressing bloated content, refining the theme, and removing unnecessary JavaScript and CSS. The result was a leaner site that responded more quickly, reduced friction for visitors, and created a stronger technical foundation for both conversion performance and search visibility.

Without the budget for a full rebuild, New Zealand Safaris was able to make its existing website work much harder. The sharper positioning and reduced friction gave high-value North American hunters a clearer path from interest to enquiry, while the technical improvements strengthened the site’s ability to perform.
